What Are You Willing to Accept?
I’m 30.
No kids.
No excuses.
Just work, training, and building this gym.
And after years of coaching, competing, rehabbing injuries, and watching hundreds of people change their lives, I’ve realised something simple:
Your health might not be your fault.
But it is your RESPONSIBILITY
And that includes you — if you’re a member at Fitness Yard
When you were born, you didn’t choose your genetics.
You didn’t choose your metabolism.
You didn’t choose your parents’ habits.
That wasn’t your fault.
But at some point — and for most of us that point is long past — the responsibility shifted.
You decide:
- If you train.
- If you move
- If you sleep.
- If you eat like someone who respects their body.
- If you show up when it’s uncomfortable.
Not your GP.
Not your partner.
Not your coach.
You
Let’s Be Honest
In the gym, I see two types of people
TYPE 1 - The ones waiting for someone to “fix” them.
TYPE 2 - The ones who decide to fix themselves — with support.
Both might have
- Stressful jobs
- Bad knees
- Tight shoulders
- 20 years of inconsistent training
- Hormonal changes
- Injuries
None of that is their fault.
But what do they do next? That’s on them.
How Much Responsibility Are You Willing to Take?
Let’s say you write a list:
Your doctor, Your physio, Your coach (me), Your partner, Your parents….
Now ask yourself:
How much of your health do you expect each of them to carry?
Because here’s the truth:
I care about you.
I’ll programme properly.
I’ll coach your technique.
I’ll modify around injuries.
I’ll push you when you need it.
But I can’t:
Make you go to bed earlier.
Stop you drinking every night.
Cook your meals.
Do your steps.
Train for you.
Even if I wanted to — I can’t.
And honestly? I wouldn’t respect you if I tried.
Responsibility Isn’t Blame
This isn’t about guilt.
It’s about power.
When you say:
“Yes, I’m unfit… and?”
“Yes, I’m heavier than I want to be… and?”
“Yes, I’m scared to start lifting… and?”
“Yes, I’ve let myself slide for years… and?
That’s a strength.
Because the moment you accept responsibility, you take control.
In This Gym
We don’t blame age.
We don’t blame metabolism.
We don’t blame busy schedules.
Most of our members are 30, 40, 50, 60+.
Careers. Kids. Businesses. Stress.
And yet — they show up.
Not because it’s easy.
But because they’ve decided:
“My health is my responsibility.”
That’s the standard here.
The Real Question
If nothing changes, and five years pass…
Will you be stronger?
Healthier?
More capable?
Or still explaining why you couldn’t start?
You don’t need perfect genetics.
You don’t need perfect motivation.
You don’t need a new year.
You need to decide.
So I’ll ask you the same thing I ask myself:
What are you willing to accept?
Because whatever you tolerate in your habits today is the body you live in tomorrow.
And in this gym, we don’t wait to be rescued.
We build.
100% responsibility.
